What is the MSME Survival Fund Scheme all about?
MSME stands for — Micro Small and Medium enterprises and the Survival fund was built specifically for these kinds of business.
If you are a self-employed beauty professional (Makeup artist, Barber, Hairstylist, Nail technician, etc), or even if you own a salon or spa, you are categorized as an MSME.
The MSME Survival Fund was set up to help small business owners to do the following:
1. Payroll Support — The Government is going to support 500,000 MSME’s to pay the salaries of their employees ranging between 30,000 naira to 50,000 naira for each employee over the next 3 months.
If you own a salon, spa, or gym with at least 3employees, and you have already registered your business with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), you are eligible for this support.
2. Formalisation support — The Government is going to provide free CAC Business name registration to 250,000 new businesses.
This means if you are a Self-employed beauty professional, this is a perfect opportunity for you to register your business with the CAC for completely FREE.
3. General Grant — The Government is going to give a 50,000 naira grant to businesses most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
If you are a self-employed beauty professional, or if you own a Salon or Spa, you are eligible for this general grant.
